Glasgow-based Canadian composer, artist, and writer, Josh Thorpe likes to listen to unusual music, and to talk with interesting people about it. This month, Josh’s guest is Howie Reeve, a Glasgow-based bassist, singer, songwriter and improviser. His music is often thought of as post-punk, but whatever it is, it comes, as Howie says, from the heart. We listen to Wakichi Tsumezawa, Jumio Kurachi, Yukio Matsukura, and Naoto Kawate. This interview was recorded on a walk in Glasgow’s Pollok park. It might take your ear a minute to adjust.
