Taking Lan “Florence” Yee’s exhibition We prefer the moon over the sun because we can stare at it as a site for a dance party, we ask you to join us to celebrate Yee’s 30th birthday.

“When my grandparents arrived in Montreal in the 70’s, they started a social dance club with their friends that lasted four decades. Now at a similar age to my grandmother when she first stepped on the dancefloor of a new country, I understand more and more what people mean when they say that dancing saved their lives. Dancing has given me a practiced sense of safety in my body, and good dancers help me practice that sense of safety. I hope to see you on the exhibition’s dance floor.” -LFY
