Allison Cameron
Allison Cameron is a composer, improvising musician, performer and educator in Toronto. She has been commissioned in Europe and North America by many ensembles and festivals. Her music has been celebrated in Musicworks Magazine, and in 2015, her compact disc A Gossamer Bit was among the Wire Magazine’s top 50 recordings of the year.
In addition to writing chamber music, Allison is also an improviser, performing on electronic keyboards, ukulele, banjo, piano, radios, crackle boxes, cassette tapes, miscellaneous objects and toys.
She is constantly composing, performing and collaborating with other experimental musicians and artists. Her most recent recording of chamber works Somatic Refrain (2022) was produced on the Another Timber label out of the UK and features the renowned contemporary music ensemble Apartment House.
