Skipper, Mr. Ed and The Sister Season are three of Jared Mitchell’s stories produced for the internet. The narratives reveal a dark side to the underbelly of the homosexual underground where pain, money, men and death mingle and inevitably fuse. The web based photonovella format with its slide-show simplicity relies on constructed key frames; it depends on you to push the ‘next’ button that drives each character to his fate. Mitchell has created cathartic low-tech hi-impact web fiction about the spectrum of homodentity that isn’t on the rainbow flag.
Skipperworld was curated by Leif Harmsen for the YYZ Vitrine to coincide with Pride and YYZ’s death themed programming.
