Interested in the physical and psychological relationships of everyday objects and situations, no Jennifer Stillwell reconstructs, order only to soon dismantle, a living room ensemble. From wallpapering to placing accent lamps, Stillwell installs a plausible interior space in the gallery. The constructed interior is then used as a set for a process-based performance. A video documents the process as the artist methodically takes apart the room and eventually rolls its contents up within the carpet it was sitting on. The result of the performance exists as a sculptural installation and video.
