Questioning the relationships between governments and corporations along with the monumental artifacts currently transforming our fragile landscape, Winnipeg artist Lynn Richardson invokes a futuristic arctic landscape to reflect on contemporary concerns. Through an installation of “iceberg” formations, Richardson presents a manufactured and manufacturing landscape where the effects of corporate and government industrial agendas, technological progression, and ecological exploitation are deeply implicated. A “working” landscape, in more ways than one, Inter-glacial is a welcome anti-freeze to widespread environmental apathy, immobility and inaction.
