Artist Bios

Sue Gallagher

Sue Gallag her holds a Masters of Scenography from Central St. Martins, London institute, UK, and a Bachelor of Architecture (First Class Honors) from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. Sue is currently a lecturer in Spatial Arts at the School of Art and Design, Auckland University of Technology, specializing in Video, performance design and other scenographic processes. Gallagher also serves as designer and director at the Auckland based exhibition, installation and architectural design company, Frisk, and is a board member of the moving image centre. Gallagher’s current projects include a permanent exhibition gallery at the Auckland Observatory.

Andrew King

Andrew King holds a Masters of Architecture from Technical University of Nova Scotia (Dalhousie University); a Bachelor of Environmental Design, Acadia University, Wolfville, Nova Scotia; a (third year) Bachelor of Arts in Theatre; as well as a diploma in Civil Engineering. King was the recipient of the 2003-2004 Prix de Rome in Architecture from the Canada Council for the Arts. He currently holds faculty appointments at the Banff Centre for the Arts and the University of Calgary, School of Architecture. He has lectured on his work at the Tate Britain in London, La Sapienza University in Rome, New York University in Florence, The Royal Academy in Copenhagen, The Design Exchange in Toronto and the Walter Phillips Gallery in Banff. For the past decade Andrew King has collaborated with Angela Silver on projects that explore the connections between art and architecture at the scales of surface, room, building and city through drawings, photography, models, film, installation, compilations and project work.
